Value of Licensure
The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES,) has developed campaigns supporting the value and importance of licensure. Their videos and social media campaigns aim to educate policy makers and others about the underlying reason for continued licensure of technical professions.
Below we have posted a video created by NCEES which highlights the importance of licensure. Additional NCEES videos supporting licensure may also be found through the link. You are encouraged to view these short videos.

Investigators Needed
KSBTP is currently seeking licensed professionals in each of the technical professions to serve as investigators on behalf of the Board. Investigators must be in good standing with the Board, have no prior disciplinary action, reside in Kansas and be willing to contract with KSBTP. State employees are not eligible. Investigators are retained on an as-needed basis. If you are chosen as an investigator, you will be contacted directly by KSBTP staff. If you are interested, please send an email to ksbtpadmin@ks.gov and attach a copy of your current resume. (Professional Engineers: please include your area of expertise; such as: mechanical, civil, etc.)
The Complaint Committee may vote to appoint one or more investigators to a case. A director of the Board office will then contact an investigator in the area to see if they currently have the availability to accept assignment. Upon confirmation of availability the Board office will send the investigator all information received on the alleged violation.
The investigator must independently track their hours, mileage, and any incidental expenses to be reimbursed. Hourly rates are agreed upon in the contract and will be paid upon submission of investigative report. Board staff will assist the investigator by providing any contact information on file and license verifications as requested.

ACCESS TO THE ONLINE RENEWAL PORTAL
The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions would like to remind everyone that only the licensee should be accessing his or her renewal portal. Please note that allowing others to access the portal on your behalf may result in discipline to your license. Please be advised the Principal in Responsible Charge should be the only employee accessing the businesses' renewal portal.
